Upload Puzzle Pack
Upload a .pgn puzzle collection (each game needs a [FEN] header for the starting position — this is how puzzle books like "1001 Chess Exercises" are distributed). Every game becomes one puzzle, and the bank is automatically split into 3 difficulty pools based on the file's order — the first third goes to Level 1 (easiest), the middle third to Level 2, and the last third to Level 3 (hardest) — so every level gets its own distinct set of puzzles.
Assign a Custom PGN to One Student
Upload a .pgn file (same format as above) as a private practice set for just one student — separate from the level pools. It shows up on their dashboard as a coach-picked set they can practice any time. Uploading again for the same student replaces their set and resets progress.
The student gets this many puzzles each day from their private pool — same idea as level daily homework, but only for them.
Daily Homework (set once per level)
Set how many puzzles each level solves per day — just once, after uploading the pack. From then on, every student automatically gets a brand new set of puzzles every day, pulled from their level's own pool, with no need to come back and re-assign anything.

Game Analyzer — Gemini API
Powers the Tamil AI move-review chat in each student's "Game Analyzer" section. Get a free key at aistudio.google.com/apikey.
Good to know: no chat AI model — including this dropdown's most powerful option — calculates chess moves the way a real chess engine does. All of them can occasionally misjudge a tactic or suggest an illegal-looking line, since they're reasoning in words, not searching positions. gemini-3.1-pro-preview is noticeably more reliable for genuine chess accuracy than the Flash-Lite models (worth switching to if analysis quality matters more than speed/cost), but for guaranteed-correct move analysis, a dedicated chess engine is the only real fix — ask your developer about adding Stockfish (free, runs in the browser) alongside the AI chat if that's needed.
Free-tier quotas and pricing change over time — check current limits in AI Studio if you see errors. Old models (gemini-2.0-flash and earlier) have been shut down by Google and will no longer work if you had one saved.
